- Interestingly, I just received a pair of 4.0.5A CD's today, even though
- I didn't explicitly ask for them. The accompanying letter reads:
-
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------
- Dear Valued Customer:
-
- Enclosed please find your 4.0.5 update(s). This new O/S version is
- not being distributed to our entire contract customer base. Rather,
- we are only "pushing" 4.0.5 to select customers/systems who have
- certain options within their configuration which were adversely affected
- by 4.0.1. These options include:
-
- . Dials and Buttons
- . Genlock
- . 8 Bit PI
- . Crimson
- . Elan
- . Indigo Starter Systems with E-Prom Problem
-
- For any other systems requiring the 4.0.5 update, we will be handling
- these on a fix on fail basis via our Technical Assistance Center Call
- Tracking Process. Please remember that if you log a call, it is
- necessary to provide a system serial number which has CD or Tape
- as its media type on your contract as we do not ship software for
- systems which have a media type of Right-To-Use (RTU). This will
- enable us to service you better as we will be able to expedite your
- shipment.
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- So, people with certain hardware configurations are getting 4.0.5
- automatically (in my case, Elan graphics). I'm happy....
