  22. Nope.  I complained at the NWE about this, and I recently sent e-mail to  
  23. NeXT about it.  It really bugs the hell out of me that you can't hide the  
  24. File View on startup.  Under 3.0 having the Workspace(File Viewer and  
  25. more?) completely launch on logging in is optional, but that's not the  
  26. solution that I want.

  28. This problem ranks right up there with not having a NeXTstep equivalent to  
  29. X11's DISPLAY environment variable.
