  23. We use an Archive Python for our NeXT cluster (and to remotely backup Suns,  
  24. HPs, DECs, SGIs, etc) and it has been a dream to use.  My only gripe is about  
  25. the lack of good, quality backup software.  Dump and gnutar just don't always  
  26. cut it...

  28. I have worked with HPs drive (not sure of the model) and it seemed to also be  
  29. a good product.  Pretty reliable.  Not sure how easy it is to use, because we  
  30. were using HPs built in software via Sam to backup...

  36. What you need to watch out for is the format of the tape when it is  
  37. compressed, that is if you elect to use compression.  There are 2 or 3  
  38. different compression formats and each vendor supports their own.  A tape that  
  39. was dumped on an HP drive with compression generally cannot be used on an  
  40. Archive drive.  However, if the data is not compressed, then tapes can be  
  41. moved across drives...
