- I haven't seen that magazine, but it probably explains
- why we (and we are your friends, honest!) can't make it
- available on sonata/nova. If you've looked, you'll
- notice we still have it, but it's not readable. I get asked
- why nearly every day. That's so:
-
- we can make it available if that's ever allowed again
-
- people know not to resubmit it and get us in trouble. Most
- of the times I've removed a forbidden file, it's
- dutifully reappeared in submissions.
-
- >I< can pass it hand to hand as you described- which I
- don't do over the network but have done for walk-ins here.
- If you're ever near Purdue, be sure to stop by.
-
- people who get copies of the Archives by mail can have it.
- I don't consider that mass distribution and tell the
- recipient not to distribute the file widely. Yeah, it's
- gray, but nobody's told me not to. (And I'm sure I'll hear
- about it now. :-( )
-
- we have a backup because we use it and like it a lot
-
- >I< think pulling it from mass distribution was ridiculous
-
- These are my opinions, of course, and don't reflect the
- policies of the Archives or of the University. Most of the
- recent policies of the Archives are built on my opinions,
- of course, but they aren't necessarily synonymous.
