- Since I didn't receive much response from my first posting, I
- thought I would give it one last try. So here goes...
-
- Over the last 18 months we have been developing and implementing
- a Technology Independent Library structure using V7 LMS. Our
- library structure involves issues like generic symbols,
- non-homogeneous mapping files, multiple simulation models per
- symbol and "activation on the fly" upon instantiation.
-
- As with all library development "adventures" there have been
- many occasions for discussions ranging from structure to
- implementation to support. Oh yes, and one called V8. To this
- end, we would like to share the fruits and labor of our ongoing
- adventure with all comers. Besides the already mentioned
- discussions, we have also spent time addressing assembly headers,
- power/ground table generation, package catalog file generation,
- back annotation and more!
-
- If anyone is interested in further discussions, please post,
- email or phone. Although all discussions are welcomed, I am
- especially interested in anyone developing a Technology Independent
- Library who has made the transistion from V7 to V8. Here are
- some suggested topics to get things started.
-
-
- 1) LMS V7
-
- 2) Technology Independent Libraries
-
- 3) Non-Homogeneous Mapping Files
-
- 4) CVT_COMP
-
- 5) Quickpart Tables vs Quickparts
-
- 6) Model Registration and the Part Interface File in V8
-
-
- Personal Opinion: Overall I am pleased with the V7 LMS product and
- its implementation.
