- I've just started getting a new sort of problem with software I've been running
- forever.
-
- Every day or so when I start up Microsoft Word (4.00B), I get the first dialog
- box, showing the version, then the system reports that the application
- "unknown" has quit with an error of type 1.
-
- If I rebuild the desktop, Word will start and function normally. It may do so
- several times, but in a day or so I'll have to rebuild again.
-
- Any idea why this may be happening? I've tried removing some applications so
- the desktop might be less cluttered, but that's no help. I have lots of tools
- for looking at things, but no real idea what to look for.
-
- This is on a IIfx running 7.1 (no tuneup), 4MB RAM, 80MB hard disk.
