- Two parter:
-
- 1) What is the latest version of system 7 - the upgrade kit Apple
- shipped be yesterday has 7.0. I've seen/used 7.0.1 dated April 1991,
- and there was a patch dish in the upgrade kit that was dated in 1992.
- Has nothing been done since then - Apple mentioned a 7.1 in beta, but
- they had no info...
-
- 2a) How can the IIci run faster - would a video card (thus offloading
- the 68030) help, or would it require an accelerated card?
-
- 2b) Would adding memory (5->8Mb) or rearranging the memory help (where
- the video ram resides)?
-
- 2c) I assume adding a cache card will help - does the size matter
- (32, 64 or 128 Kb). In the workstation world, the larger the better,
- but for a Mac??
-
- PLEASE REPLY DIRECTLY, as I don't normally read this bboard. It's just
- that I seek the knowledge of the experts on this stuff (and the local
- service jocks don't seem all that sharp)
