- Well, thankfully, my Stylewriter has not yet made any similar grinding noise,
- but this does sort of confirm a suspicion I had about it when I got it. The
- manual promises a service life of 6000 sheets (I think), and if it is true that
-

-
- then they may well have been giving a pretty accurate lifetime estimate instead
- of being extraordinarily conservative. I'm content with my Stylewriter, and
- will be content (considering its cost) even if it breaks in a couple of months
- when sheet 6001 rolls out in a mangled heap :-), but with LaserWriter prices
- down to almost as low as what I paid for the Stylewriter when it first came
- out, I think it's time to get a more durable printer.
-
- I, at least, bothered to discover the estimated lifetime before buying it, so
- I sort of understood this was coming.
