- Hello there,
- I'm a Mac network manager (up to 20 Macs). Actually, the Mac server is really
- to slow (the server itself is a MacPlus).
- We will change it. We want to buy a Mac Quadra 950 to do the work. It has to
- share the files (with AppleShare 3.0), be a fax-modem server, and be a remote
- Oracle server (we will connect to a Sun through it via Ethernet).
- Does anybody of you havesuch a configuration ?
- Is a Mac Quadra 950 really justified, or a simple Mac IIci will be enough ?
- (Money is not a problem!).
- We need very fast access to disks and files (we use this very slow FileMaker
- Pro, and when 10 users are connected to the same file, accessing it is really
- not like a Porsche).
-
- Thanks for any help!
-
- Sincerely,
-
- Steve Jordi
