- As I understand it, you can't have a System on a locked disk. The System
- writes to itself frequently. So that DOES make it tougher. However, I'll
- assume you're on a network: consider AppleShare. Make the startup volume
- something from the server, and set privileges for read only. I'm hoping
- (but not at all sure) that it will consider System-driven changes to
- itself as server writes, not writes from your terminal. But again, I'm
- not sure.

- Other than that, it sounds like you basically need a way to make a
- volume mount, start up the Mac, and then hide itself so that no one can
- look at it. I don't have a clue HOW to do this one.
