- What about the non translated software, like for instance
- Think products?
- I have bought Think Pascal 3 just before version 4
- was sold (thanks a lot to my local dealer :-( ), and I
- have seen that American price is about 40% cheaper.
- I don't think that Symantec has a French office, and the
- difference seems to go directly in the pocket of the
- dealer.
-
- I will add a general comment on the local Apple
- dealers here in French Riviera. I went into 5 or 6
- stores, and the impression they gave me was of
- complete ignorance of what IS a Macintosh, what makes
- it different from say PCs, what is a user's real
- need and what configuration would be the best choice.
- The one I made the deal was the only serious one.
-
- More or less, and this is a very BAD point, the
- salespeople sells computers like shoes, or houses. In
- my region, I am afraid the best counter-advertising
- to Apple comes from its local dealer net. They are
- CROOKS.
