  10. Fine, don't believe me, I don't care, but I just got off the phone with 
  11. "a friend" whose hard drive on his powerbook 100? (the cheap one) packed it in.
  12. Of course, he was using it for his business for a few months now, and has
  13. no backups whatsoever. He said that it had been making noises for a while
  14. before it died (I say, get a clue, bud) and now it doesn't spin anymore.

  16. His dealer says that the drive is cooked and that they cannot retrieve the
  17. data. Apple Canada told him to talk to his dealer.

  19. I promised him that I would post here to see if anyone knew of a way to get his
  20. data off his toasted drive. There, I did it.
