- Whoa! I disappear for a few weeks and look what happens! I missed
- the early parts of this conversation so here's my $.02. 1) If your
- use CompileIt from Heizer Software you can compile any handler and
- somebody would need a sector editor to be able to examine the
- plaintext parts of it (typically text & binally callbacks and their
- parameters). However, if you are going to assume that the stacks in
- question cannot be removed from the machines on which they are placed
- then I have a solution as well - it has to do with the only HyperCard
- anti-trojan-horse software available - HyperGuard - yes, I've renamed
- it to remove any confusion. Anyhow, I can attach externals to
- HyperCard which inhibit any user from being able to examine scripts,
- period. Those who tested HyperGuard will be able to vouch for the
- fact that I can inhibit just about any HyperCard command regardless of
- how you try to bypass the message heirarchy. In WSOM, for example, we
- have made it so that even the most clever people are not able to go
- home with a copy of our HyperCard network front-end or, for that
- matter, break out of it. So the answer is - yes. If you want to do
- it, you can stop anybody from looking at scripts - the question is how
- absolutely stopped you want them.
