  13. Here is a question along the same vein:
  14.     When I look at my BW Mac SE's screen with polarizing sunglasses
  15. (and turn up the brightness to compensate), the flicker is less noticeable!
  16. (Try it.)  Since I'm sure the monitor is still flickering away like usual,
  17. why do the eyes perceive a more stable image under polarized light?  I have
  18. noticed ads for "glare guards" which fit over the screen to eliminate glare.
  19. Some of these are polarized.  Has anyone tried them?  Do they reduce flicker
  20. as well as glare? 
  21.      If you have a good guess, e-mail it to me and I'll summarize to the
