- This only applies to the original Portable. When they brought in the
- backlighting (because users didn't want their offices bright enough to
- read an ordinary sheet of paper) and "pseudo-static RAM" (to avoid the
- cost of real SRAM), those features cut into the battery life somewhat.
- I don't think you'll get 8 hours from those later Portables.

- *Beautiful* screen! Though it had to be replaced about three times in the
- first 6-8 months my boss had the machine--a whole row of pixels would
- suddenly die. We certainly made full use of that one-year warranty...
