  17. I have a Sharp 6220 that has died in a rather odd manner. It lost two columns
  18. of pixels (each about 8 pixels wide) from the top right of the screen to half
  19. way down the screen. This is most likely due to excessive vibration while
  20. moving, and has been traced down to two ICs on the LCD becoming unbonded (for
  21. those souls not intrepid enough to crack the case open, the LCD has IC dies
  22. bonded directly to a flexible PC with solder bump technology).  I will attempt
  23. to get Sharp to quote a reasonable repair, and if they don't will attempt the
  24. repair myself, but the chances of either being successful ar slim. Hence the
  25. post. This is the only damage to the device, which otherwise works perfectly.

  27. I anticipate having the following for sale and will entertain offers on the
  28. whole or the parts (will work with TI Travelmate 2000 as well):

  30.     Sharp 6220 with above damage, or:
  31.         (2) 1 meg RAM expansion cards (brings total mem to 3 Meg)
  32.         (1) Megahertz 2400 Baud MNP5 / 9600 Baud fax modem
  33.         (1) 20 Meg 2.5 inch drive (only if I can't sell the complete
  34.                        carcass)
  35.                 (1) dead Sharp 6220-minus everything above
  36.     (1) Cannon BJ10 that has mysteriously refused to print (the carriage
  37.         won't advance toward the paper, and occasionally I get errors on
  38.         powerup) This printer has been only used for about 30 prints. I
  39.         just don't have the inclination to deal with it.

  43. I would like to buy a dead Sharp 6220 or TI 2000 (I think the 3000 would work
  44. too) that has no damage to the LCD display.
