- I don't believe that EMM386.SYS will load without something telling it to.
- You may be a bit confused with the DR-DOS boot process when SSTOR is used:
- If the entire hard drive is compressed, a small partition is saved which
- holds the boot information since it can't decompress files on the SSTOR
- drive until the driver is loaded. Normally, the boot drive is drive C:,
- but DEVSWAP.COM is loaded to make it drive D: and the SSTOR drive C:.
- Furthermore, DR-DOS looks for DCONFIG.SYS before looking for CONFIG.SYS.
- The last line in the standard DCONFIG.SYS is a command to chain to the
- user's CONFIG.SYS.

- In short, check for DCONFIG.SYS on drives that you don't think you have,
- such as D:, E:, or F:.
