- i have the following problem with my nec 84 cd-rom drive when
- playing an audio cd:
-
- if the machine is rebooted it will halt in the autoexec.bat
- when it is trying to load the mscdex until the audio disk is
- ejected
-
- using various file commands in windows, including, sometimes,
- starting file manager, or using the file open command from
- many various and sundry programs, including winword, will halt
- until the audio disk is ejected
-
- if mscdex puts the cd-rom at d:, and someone accidentally does
- a log on to drive d, control does not return until the audio
- disk is ejected
-
- it seems that there is no way in which a program can reliably
- tell if the cd is data or audio....
-
- any comments or suggestions appreciated,
- g
