- My lab has anold IBM AT 6MHZ which has just gone to the great silicon pit
- in the sky. However, all the peripherals (hard drive, video...) still work.
-
- So, I was looking to replace just the main "basic unit" and found that
- Dee One systems (1-800-831-8808) seems to be cheapest ($368 for a 486SX-20,
- case, power supply, keyboard, 1M RAM, HD/FD controller). As we are replacing
- a 6MHz AT, you can see we do not need any great speed, and a 486SX will do
- fine and the 20MHz version is especially inexpensive.
-
- Does anyone have any experience with this company or their products? I have
- noticed that they have been around for at least a short while and do offer
- a one year parts & labor warranty.
-
- Or, do you have any other suggestions for me in terms of a company, or another
- way to go (eg. a 386DX-25 somewhere for $250 or something?)
-
- Thanks for your help!
