  12. I read an article a couple of months ago in either PC Mag or Computer
  13. Shopper saying that OPTI was developing an inexpensive two-chip
  14. EISA chip set.  This chip set would bring down the cost premium of
  15. EISA over ISA to around $80 from the current $300+ with the Intel
  16. chip set.

  18. The article said these would be out in the fall.  So I was wondering
  19. if anyone has heard anything (rumors or fact) on when we actually
  20. might see motherboards with this chip set?

  22. I wanted more than ISA, but I have been holding off buying anything
  23. because Local bus is still immature, and EISA has been too expensive.
  24. Now I am getting impatient, but I don't want to spend too much for
  25. EISA if these really will be out soon. (Besides, it might increase
  26. the popularity of EISA, and help bring down the cost of EISA peripheral
  27. cards, although not overnight.)
