- Actually there is that much difference. For a DAC that works at vidio
- speed, 8 bits costs more than 6 bits. Plus three are needed for red, green,
- and blue. The price of an 8 bit DAC has come down since the original VGA
- was made, and there are now some boards available with 8 bit DACs.
- But they are still more expensive than the plain VGA boards.
