- The normal XT controller won't handle most 1.2MB drives at all - with either
- 1.2MB or 360KB disks because 1.2MB disks require a data transfer rate of
- 500Kbps and 360KB disks need 300Kbps on a 1.2MB drive. The XT controller
- outputs data only at a 250Kbps data rate. However, some 1.2MB drives
- can be configured as variable speed drives, and if so then an XT controller
- will work with them with 360KB disks.
