-
- The symptoms of this sick machine are that it reboots spuriously and
- spontaneously, whether running DOS or SCO Unix 3.2.4. The brand name
- is OCTEC HIPPO III, and it's other cards include Racal-Interlan 6510
- ethernet card, Adaptec SCSI card, hercules-clone display card and 16M
- of memory. It also has 256 k of cache memory.
-
- It has been observed to reboot while idling under DOS 5.0, and it has
- also rebooted while in the process of a Unix shutdown. Furthermore, it
- reboots about once a day under SCO Unix.
-
- Does anyone have any experience with this manufacturer? Are there perhaps
- BIOS settings, or I/O bus effects that may cause this behaviour? Any and
- all clues will be appreciated... thanks in advance.
