- My experience is worse... over the past 4 years I went 3/3 in Seagate drive
- failures between home and work machines (i.e., not _all_ my fault as I only
- purchased 1 of them myself.
-
- All suffered from stiction and required being constantly on. Finally, even
- turning the machine off for a few seconds led to stiction at which point I
- had to replace them (or have them replaced). [Simply leaving your machine on
- BTW is an easy solution for stiction problems which you rarely see. In my
- case it extended the life the drives about a year.]
-
- Their present technology may be better. My problems were with the 251 and 151
- series (40 megs). In particular, unless they've ruined it, I have heard only
- good things about the CDC Wren line which they bought out a while back.

- Good luck,
