- I had this exact error the other day. Had to reboot. Don't know why, just
- know you'll feel better that you're not the only one! ;}
- I have QEMM on the 386 in question. Someone had recently added or updated
- several Windows apps., i.e. MathCad3.1, Visual Basic, HPIB DDL, Norton Desktop
- ... I double clicked the icon of either V.B. or HPIB when I got the "blue
- screen" and mem. parity error, system halted crap. Upon rebooting I noticed
- a message like cannot load high, not loaded, rerun optimize. So I ran
- QEMM's optimize, no more load message, and no mem. errors since. However,
- I'm not assuming that this was the cause and solution - just one possibility.
-
- What memory manager are you using? Have you installed new software recently?
- Other programs that used extended memory? Is everything in config.sys and
- autoexec.bat being loaded correctly? Any conflicts? Watch the messages when
- you boot up. Look at " mem /c | more" and mem /d | more" for clues.
-
- Hope this gets you somewhere ...
