- I'm using what you want right now. A Paradise clone (@$100 2 years ago).
- It has 512K vram standard (upgrade to 1024K "fairy" cheap @ $10 or $20).
- It will run in both 8 and 16 bit bus.
- The extra memory is nice - but needed only if you want higher res. and more
- colors. 512K is enough for 800x600 x16 colors, or 1024x768 x 4 colors (interlaced).
- It works great. There are also many other "cheap" svga cards with the same
- features. You should have no problem finding one. Since you're on a limited
- budget, don't be fished in by the newer "hot" cards - they'll be dirt cheap in
- a year or so. Try something in the $50-100 range. Also, any decent dealer
- will let you trade it for another it you don't like it after a trial run.
- Just make sure it comes with the most recent drivers for AutoCad, Windows,etc.
