  31.   To date three people have notified me that they have the exact
  32. same problem.  Two have said that they have the same configuration
  33. without the problem.

  40.    I tried the monitor on a friends identical system (with the
  41. exception of his NEC 3FGX monitor).  The problem was there with
  42. the 1572FS driver being used.  The problem does not show up with
  43. some other drivers (namely "vga or ps2" and the "crystal scan 1024"),
  44. however that doesn't necessarily mean much. To date two monitors and 
  45. two ATI ultra graphics cards on two 486dx2/50 systems exhibit the 
  46. problem at 1024x768 mode.

  48.   I talked to Gateway and they offered to upgrade the
  49. monitor to a NEC 3FGX or a SONY 1304s (for $85 and $50 respectively).

  51.   In other words they do not have a solution.

  53.   Actually, they did suggest trying the new ati drivers with the crystal
  54. fonts.  I haven't yet and will post if it works.
