- Maxtor reccomends the following:
- Cylinders: 1024
- Heads: 14
- Sectors/Track:17
- Write Precomp:1024 (NONE)
- Landing Zone: 1024

- The last two I have never needed to mess with; I believe the drive's
- on-board controller handles that automatically.
- Write Precompensation is the track at which your controller should
- begin compensating for "bit migration"... the phenomena of magnetic
- particles altering eachothers' position on the disk when placed
- close together. This is common on the innermost tracks of the disk.
