  26.  I had a similar problem and solved it by disconnecting the jumper for the 
  27. onboard battery overnight (12 hours or so) then rebooting. The CMOS seems 
  28. to have forgot all previous settings, including password, as a result. It 
  29. was just a matter of reconfiguring the CMOS and reinstalling the battery 
  30. jumper afterwards. The question should be why didn't the CMOS respond 
  31. correctly to the password?
