- I had a similar problem and solved it by disconnecting the jumper for the
- onboard battery overnight (12 hours or so) then rebooting. The CMOS seems
- to have forgot all previous settings, including password, as a result. It
- was just a matter of reconfiguring the CMOS and reinstalling the battery
- jumper afterwards. The question should be why didn't the CMOS respond
- correctly to the password?
