- I've recently expanded from 4 MB to 8 MB and I'm having problems with the extra
- memory. When I had 4 MB on board, I had no problems. But soon after I went to
- 8 MB, I would get parity errors, and sometimes the screen would just blank out
- and the screen would freeze up. The new memory itself seems to be fine. I can
- use either the new memory *or* the old memory (or even a combination of 2 MB of
- each) and I have no problems. When I went to check out a problem once, I
- noticed that the memory seemed quite hot when I had 8 MB installed. The memory
- is installed in 4 banks of 2 MB each, and when all 8 are in, there is little
- room for ventilation. Could the heat be doing this? Have I run out of power,
- perhaps? Any solutions or similar experiences out there? This is SIPP memory
- if it helps.
