  10. I would like to run a HP ScanJet IIc in the HP-UX 8.0 environment.  This
  11. scanner is connected via a SCSI interface, and is supplied with software
  12. for either the IBM-PC or the Mac.

  14. Previously, we ran the ScanJet IIp (a.k.a. ScanJet Plus) from the parallel
  15. interface using the "CharDrv" driver configured with SAM.  I find no
  16. equivalent driver for the SCSI scanner interface (there are plenty of SCSI
  17. drivers for tapes and disks, though).

  19. The only reference to a device driver in the developer's kit is to a MS-DOS
  20. driver.

  22. I realize that this may not be a supported product configuration, and am
  23. willing/able to develop the necessary code myself.  At the same time, I
  24. don't want to re-invent the wheel.  Any pointers on how to write a device
  25. driver such as this would be appreciated (e.g.  which manuals should I
  26. read?).

  28. In summary, I just want some code that I can use to send SCL (Scanner
  29. Control Language) commands to the scanner.  Any help or pointers to achieve
  30. this is greatly appreciated.
