- The following is true for HP9000/4xx (HP-UX 8.0) and HP9000/7xx (HP-UX
- 8.07):
-
- Sometimes there is the need to umount a file system, that is exported
- via nfs to other machines. In most cases you have to do this while
- some people are using this file system. To umount this fs you have to
- 'push' them away - else you get something like this: ... device busy.
-
- HP-UX provides the command fuser to check
- (1) who is using the fs (option -u)
- (2) kill the processes - as they are on the ws running fuser - (option
- -k)
- Don't bother about details about the options, the fact is:
-
- We read the man pages and tried several combinations, but in some
- cases we got no information about the user on the fs nor we could push
- them away.
-
- We believe that there has to be a solution - except cycle power ...
-
- Thanks in advance for any ideas,
-
- Axel Brandes.
