  12. When running a  DAT HP35470A off a sun ELC I too often get the message 
  13. "esp0:   Target 4 now Synchronous at 4.0 mb/s max transmit rate" , 
  14. especially when running dumps over the net. syslog and console goes
  15. berzerk by then and bring the ELC to its knees.

  17. Is this the SCSI-Bus resyncing, and if so, why ?
  18. Is there a special firmware for Sun's ?
  19.  
  20. Setup : Sun 4C ELC SunOS Release 4.1.2 kernel recompiled with st_conf.c mods
  21.     DAT HP35470A with DIP's 12678 off
  22.     input typically via rsh dd of=/dev/nrst0 bs=5120
  23.  
  24. BTW, running local dumps always shows verificaton errors, while the dump and
  25. tape seem ok ....
