  13.   I've got the disks to P/OS version 2.0 now, & I was playing with them the
  14. other day. There seem to be a couple of problems. For example, when I attempt
  15. to boot off of any of them, I get the error :

  18.     0 0 0 0 0 7            (The "Software Only Error")

  20.   I also acquired a couple of hard drives, & only found one hard drive that
  21. would work. With the other hard drive, whenever I try to boot the computer,
  22. I get the error :

  30.   This one the book says is a hardware error of some sort. It seems to be
  31. the drive though, because both controllers I have bombed with this error.

  33.   Is there any documentation on how to decode these nice little error
  34. numbers into something that translates to human-speak?

  36.   Also, while the hard disk stuff was loaded, I attempted to go through the
  37. "tutorial". I got most of the way through chapter 0.1 (?) when all of a
  38. sudden the machine began giving me these "File MMM001 not found" error
  39. messages, & I couldn't do anything (Exit/Resume didn't do anything, Do/Help
  40. gave me these file errors). I had to turn the machine off. Could this point
  41. to the floppies I got being damaged?

  43.   I looked at them with the DEC file commands, & other than the fact there
  44. weren't too many files there, I didn't get any errors. Is there any way to
  45. verify a disk?

  47.   And, how long should it take DECUS to process my application? I sent it a
  48. couple of weeks ago, & haven't heard anything, so I'm wondering how long I
  49. should wait before bothering them. ;)
