- Why? For any of the PDP11s of that era, you just would buy the
- appropriate boot ROM from DEC. Digital does not clobber you, prices
- are quite reasonable. What I would do would be to:

- 1/ Connect up to DEC-Direct, got to parts, and do a pattern search
- for ROM, BOOT, etc. (If you don't have a DEC-direct phone account,
- get one. It makes DEC shopping much easier, effectively bypassing
- your typical non-technical sales-person.)

- 2/ Go to documentation for the bootstrap board. Many of them list
- what each of the bootstrap boards roms do.

- If your machine has console odt, the first thing I would do would
- be to look at the normal locations where PROMs can reside and see
- what was already installed.

- Probably would be a waste of net bandwidth to a VAX and UNIX dominated
