  13. and a suggestion to set IP_TTL= oxff in /etc/master.d/ip

  15. My problem was different.  For a long time I was only able to telnet only to
  16. some sites off campus.  For all others I would get almost instantly
  17. "connect: connection timed out".

  19. Because I also remember crashing my system when telenetting into it from
  20. afar, I decided the problems might be related, and made the above change.

  22. And -- voila! -- the rest of the world is now telnet'able
  23.  
  24. Maybe others who have experienced my problem could benefit from this tip.
