- My problem was different. For a long time I was only able to telnet only to
- some sites off campus. For all others I would get almost instantly
- "connect: connection timed out".

- Because I also remember crashing my system when telenetting into it from
- afar, I decided the problems might be related, and made the above change.

- And -- voila! -- the rest of the world is now telnet'able
