  28. Imagine reading the Info-Atari8 Digest at, say, 300 bps, with say, a
  29. 1500-line .uue file in the middle of it.  Do you think you'd watch the
  30. binary go by so you could read the messages at the end of the Digest? 
  31. Info-Atari8 subscribers have no way to just skip over .uue postings they
  32. don't want to read, they have to either watch the whole binary go by, or
  33. they miss some of the other postings to the group.  This was the reason
  34. we've fairly successfully moved our file sharing from this group to the
  35. archive.  The proposed binaries newsgroup would indeed be accessable to all
  36. Usenet readers, but the readers of this group without Usenet access would
  37. not be able to make use of it.  Perhaps a new idea: why not have the
  38. proposed binaries group available as a separate mail-list as well?
