- Imagine reading the Info-Atari8 Digest at, say, 300 bps, with say, a
- 1500-line .uue file in the middle of it. Do you think you'd watch the
- binary go by so you could read the messages at the end of the Digest?
- Info-Atari8 subscribers have no way to just skip over .uue postings they
- don't want to read, they have to either watch the whole binary go by, or
- they miss some of the other postings to the group. This was the reason
- we've fairly successfully moved our file sharing from this group to the
- archive. The proposed binaries newsgroup would indeed be accessable to all
- Usenet readers, but the readers of this group without Usenet access would
- not be able to make use of it. Perhaps a new idea: why not have the
- proposed binaries group available as a separate mail-list as well?
