- Have a LOOK at QuickTime on the Mac, and decide if it is good for anything
- but QuickTime demos. Compared to Amiga ANIMS, or ANIMBrushes, QuickTime
- movies look silly.

- Yes, Gold Disk's Showmaker. It is Premiere, which IS a way cool program,
- but again, I really don't know what you would DO with the output of
- Premiere. Showmaker is not as flashy, but is orders of magnitude more
- useful... you can do some REAL video sequence editing, not messing around
- with little postage-stamp sized messes of pixels. Call up Gold Disk and get
- yourself the Showmaker Demo tape. Watch it. When you find your shoes and
- socks again, go to a Mac dealer and watch the QuickTime demos...

-
- Again, there is no simple answer for this. If you want to digitize moving
- images, there ARE framegrabbers for the Amiga that will do this for you,
- with about the same quality as Mac Quicktime movies (that is to say, poor
- quality). If you are interested in real video work, then this becomes a
- non-question.
-
- OI> 5. How fast are the programs (screen updating, playback etc.)?
-
- My '030 based Amiga 2500 is faster at screen updates and deep colour
- animation than is my Mac Quadra 700.

-
- Objectively speaking, I really don't know what the use for QuickTime is,
- other than demonstrating QuickTime, and adding a few poorly done animations
- to some CD encyclopedia sets. The Amiga ANIM format is more compact, and
- plays back at full screen, with better frame rates than do 2x2 inch
- QuickTime movies. I'd give up 8 bit colour in a tiny window to animate 6
- bit colour on an full sized, overscanned monitor any day.
-
- The ANIM format, and ANIMbrushes, are compatible with just about every
- single Amiga hypermedia program out there. You'll be able to create more
- captivating, colourful, and realistic presentations with an Amiga than you
- will be able to with a Mac. Guaranteed.
