- When the Amiga first came out a lot of stores in my area
- (Southern New Hampshire) including the one I bought my first Amiga
- from sold IBM's, Macintoshes, and Amigas. Apple put a LOT of pressure
- on those dealers, basically saying that dealers who sold Amigas could
- not sell Macintoshes. (But, as I remember it could sell AppleII's and
- GS's.)
-
- Most dealers dropped the Amiga, and a few dropped the Macintosh.
- All of the Mac dealers susequently folded, those that stuck with the
- Amiga survived, and in a few cases prospered. But the best Amiga
- dealers in Massachusetts and New Hampshire never sold Macintoshes.
