- Yeah, trade-in would be a bit of a hassle if the requirement is that the
- old machine is in good working order. C= could try selling the traded-in
- machines at severely reduced prices, but I don't know how practical this would
- be. Anyways, with deals like the Power Up, it means that the owner either
- keeps his old Amiga or sells it to someone else. Either way, you increase
- the number of Amigas in the world, and in the latter case, you increase the
- user base.

-
- I dunno.. what were prices in Australia during the Power-Up offer? In the
- U.S., you could get an A3000 25/50 for $2250 via Power Up. It is sad that
- C= Australia didn't offer a similar upgrade incentive.
-
- Or how about this idea? Trade-in your PC clone for a certain amount of credit
- depending on your CPU, etc. Then C= sells the clones to some clone dealer.
- The clone dealer is responsible for refurbishing and whatever touchups to the
- motherboard are necessary. ;) After which, the clone dealer can sell the
- refurbished clone as if it was their own. Just kidding...
-
- Maybe this idea?
- "PC and Mac owners!! Here's a great way to sell your old machine _and_ get a
- brand new Amiga! Give us information about your machine, and set a price.
- WE WILL ADVERTISE FOR YOU on the computer network, along with having a
- printout of all machines available outside our main building. If someone buys
- your machine, you get 80% of your price as credit towards a brand new Amiga!
- (20% advertising and services fee ;) The credit can be applied to educational
- pricing if applicable."
- Hehe.
- (imagines huge prinouts taped to the outside walls of C= Australia, listing
- thousands of clones for sale. :)
