- In the interest of completeness:
-
- Those with FTP capability can login anonymously to:
-
- ux1.cso.uiuc.edu at University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign
- grind.isca.uiowa.edu at University of Iowa
- wuarchive.wustl.edu at Washington University in St. Louis
- gatekeeper.dec.com at Digital Equipment's Western Research Labs (Palo Alto)
-
- in Switzerland, there is the major Amiga nerve center (also for FTPers)
-
- amiga.physik.unizh.ch
-
- Those without FTP access, but who can send and receive email may use the
- following (graciously provided and maintained) services to retrieve
- files by mail:
-
- ftpmail@decwrl.dec.com again, Digital's Western Research Labs
- mrcserv@janus.mtroyal.ab.ca at Mt. Royal College, Alberta, Canada
-
- In order to use the mail servers above, just send an email message to
- either one (or both) which has a subject header of 'help' (without
- quotes) and a message body of 'help' also. This should get you the
- basic instructions for using the server. Note that the ftpmail server
- may also be used to retrieve files from any other FTP site, by sending
- ftpmail a script which remotely logs into the site, and retrieves stuff
- which ftpmail will forward to you by mail.
-
- At present, it seems that ux1 is the most current vis-a-vis Fred Fish
- disks -- or at least Mike Schwager is the most aggressive about
- advertising (usually in this space) the disks which he has put into that
- archive. Thanks, Mike, from all of us!
-
- ftpmail has all of the Fish disks, but currently (30 Aug 92) has only
- up to ff580. Paul Vixie there seems to archive the new disks in larger
- hunks than Mike Schwager at ux1.
-
- All this information has been gleaned from reading FAQ files and being
- watchful on the various amiga groups. When you see an FAQ, read it and
- learn!
