  10. There's been a lot of speculation on the new AA Chipset and whether it would
  11. actually work on an A3000 computer.  I, as a recent purchaser of an A3000,
  12. expect it to be available - in the current slots.

  14. Why?  (you ask incredulously :).  Well, some time ago, I was a brief intern
  15. at C= Westchester, and specifically asked about this (long before I purchased
  16. the A3000).  At _that_ time, they were expecting it to fit in the A3000
  17. motherboard.  They said that the Motherboard's chip socket had a 32-bit
  18. bandwidth, while the ECS still only used 16 (eg: they thought ahead).

  20. I believed this explanation, as the entire A3000 architecture is a 32-bit
  21. system (right down to the expansion bus).  I still believe it (tho much of
  22. the talk here has begun to erode my Faith).  Since that time, hardware
  23. problems may have rendered A3000 compatibility moot (ie: chips turned out too
  24. big).  I hope not.  I also hope C= will offer a real nice upgrade package to
  25. those of us still in the Gold Service warranty category (I've only had mine
  26. for 3 months!)
