  18. Maxtor has got to have about the most helpful customer support I've ever
  19. dealt with.  Here are some ways to reach them:

  21. 1-800-262-9867 - 24 hour automated system to get drive specs, jumper info,
  22.   probably just the stuff you're looking for.  You can get a tech person
  23.   on this number too but not 24hrs a day.

  25. 1-408-432-1700 - Sales dept, would probably refer your to the 1-800.

  29. They'll probably set you straight in about 5 minutes.
