- I recently got a used Seagate ST225N 20meg 5.25" HH hard drive. I
- connected it to my GVP Series II (ROM 3.7) with a standard SCSI daisy-chain
- cable along with the Quantum 52LPS the board came with. When I boot off the
- Quantum, the system refuses to accept the Seagate, and locks up if it accesses
- it. Then, if I unplug the Quantum from the SCSI cable and only have the
- Seagate on it, it will recognize the drive if I use the "GVPMount" utility.
- If I then reboot the machine again, it recognizes the drive without using
- GVPMount. Then I can turn the system off, plug the Quantum back in, turn the
- system back on, and the machine boots up fine, recognizing both Quantum and
- Seagate. Obviously, this is extremely confusing. I have NO IDEA why it works
- after turning the machine off but not before. I don't see why it would work
- that way only.
