If you are running 2.04 roms, you can only FASTROM a romfile of disk if it is
the same version. What you should be trying is SetCPU KICKROM dh0:rom to boot
1.3 of your hard disk using setcpu 1.6. If this doesn't work, how much chip ram and C00000 ram do you have? The kickrom option uses c00000 ram or chip ram for the rom image and mmu tables, as it survives a reboot better. You will need
1 meg of c0+chip ram as a 1.3 boot will need 256Krom+128ktable and a 2.04 fastrom will need 512krom+128ktable. Setcpu 1.6 should work on your machine as its
nearly identical to dave haynies setup. Don't use the bits 32 option either.
bits 31 is ok, but 32 brings out a bug that doesn't show up in most machines.
(it shows up on my A3000. you get some pretty patterns on screen). I'm going
to mail the fix to daveh soon.
If you still can't get it to work,I would guess it's something to do with the ram on the gvp board. You could try removing that ram and trying it. (only a guess).
BTW a guy I know can't use KICKROM on his B2000 as his particular revision pas
a problem with the pals, and hangs up whenever you execute two reset intsructions in a row, ala SetCPU's KICKROM code..... perhaps you have the same rev. no.
