- I discovered over the weekend that the 2286 Bridgeboard in my 2000HD
- doesn't like the Microbotics 8-UP! I just installed.
-
- Without the 8-UP!, the BB works fine.
-
- When I install the 8-UP! (with 6 megabytes), everything except the BB
- works fine. However, when I try to run PC-Color, nothing happens,
- except that sometimes the machine reboots.
-
- I've tried shuffling both boards through various slots, to see if that
- makes any difference. It didn't.
-
- Any guesses about what the problem might be?
-
- I'm pretty ignorant about the hardware end of things. I worry a bit
- that about the power supply being strong enough. The machine has an
- A2091, a second hard disk, a FlickerFixer, a Supra modem card, the
- 2286, and now the 8-UP. Is this too much to ask of the power supply? I
- guess I'd expect different symptoms if it was a power problem.
-
- I'm tempted to pull some or all of the RAM chips out of the 8-UP!, to
- see if that makes any difference, but I don't want to fool with the
- chips anymore than I have to.
-
- Thanks for any tips...
