- I asked the guys at the ex how much it costs to rent one of these babies
- (since they had a sign saying 'inquire about renting for parties' etc.) Turns
- out they charge $3500 PER DAY!!! What the hell?! That's pretty damn steep..
- especially considering that you only get 1 machine and you have to play
- against the computer! I could understand maybe $1000 a day, but $3500 is way
- overpriced.. especially considering that you can buy the entire kit yourself
- for $62,000. Bleh.. Well, I guess at least you get an amiga 3000 and a TI
- board out of the deal :-)
-
- For those people in Toronto anyhow, I was talking to a good friend who is a
- good friend of the owner of Funland. Apparently they are planning on putting
- in a virtual reality arcade on their strip (ie Yonge st :-) sometime next
- year!
-
- BTW, for those who've actually played this game, what did you think of that
- stupid tether on the backpack? That's the only thing that severly pissed off
- about the game. When I'm playing a virtual reality game, I certainly don't
- want some stupid cord constantly restricting my movement and reminding me that
- I'm not really INSIDE the game :-) They should have just had a cord hanging
- from the backpack to the ground or even infra red or something. With it
- attached to the backpack as it was, it was extremely irritating since you
- could never do a quick 360. In fact I could NEVER really just spin around..
- you always had to walk at an angle to get where you wanted. Dumb!
-
- It costs too much too.. ( I paid $7.50 to get into the place, and $10 for 3.5
- minutes of actual playtime -- $20 is a bit steep for 3.5 minutes! Then again,
- with bungee jumping you pay $80 for only a few SECONDS worth of action :-) )
