- What interface standard is this? In what way are the cards low-cost?
-
- I can imagine two possibilities: They may be compatible with cards
- available for other computer systems (PC's, Amigas, Apples etc.) where
- there are many low-cost cards already available. Or they may use a new
- Acorn designed interface that is simpler than the present podule
- interface, allowing potentially cheaper cards.
-
- The first solution is what a lot of people have yearned for, but may
- present technical problems as cards designed for PC's may function
- poorly with Acorns. The second is technically less problematic, but
- requires support from third party developers in order to fulfill its
- purpose.
