- A simple question.
-
- From the below data, what is frequency and compliance telling me?
-
- xntpdc> loopinfo
- offset: 0.0033369 seconds
- frequency: -0.3749584 seconds
- compliance: -0.0002477 seconds
- timer: 28 seconds
-
- I know that that it is indicating that there is a 3.3369ms difference
- between this machine and its server, but I just can't get the feeling of
- what frequency and especially compliance is supposed to tell me.
-
- It says in the RFC, "compliance ... an exponential average of all prior
- updates". How do I tie in these three values together?
