- We have had problems with intruders to our network and I have run
- the PC Gobbler program to snif up ethernet packets on the local
- ethernet segment. With the included software I can look at the
- data of tcpip packets, packet by packet, but it is quite tedious
- to follow what the intruder typed this way.
-
- Included with Gobbler is a program that dissects the surrounding
- ethernet packet and extracts the tcp-ip packet. Unfortunately I have
- not been able to decipher the tcp-ip packet manually to extract the
- data section.
-
- Could someone please describe the anatomy of a tcpip packet? Or
- refer me to a document where it can be found.
-
- Please reply by E-mail, as I am not a regular subscriber of this
- group.
